Catagories & Sub-catagories for 2022-23 Science Fair Projects
Click on Scientific Method to read or Steps of the Scientific Method to watch how this process works.
For suggestions & step by step guides check out: Science Buddies  (use without log in)
To enter a Science Fair project you'll need to fill out these forms.
How to Research - before you google or bing, start your research with reliable databases of peer-reviewed books, encyclopedia and periodical articles in GALILEO & Science Reference Center with one online search you'll find 1000s of articles not on the internet for free in the latest news, books, and other resources, including videos and transcripts to television science shows. (GALILEO password in IC under "School Messages.")

It is always important to cite the sources you use, but it is required to do so for Science Fair. Click on How to Cite to create your bibliographic citations for you.

Search Strategies - If your topic is too large (science) narrow it (biology)
  • Use keywords, not sentences.  For instance, if your topic is "how jazz music affects plants" the key words would be jazz and plants
Not finding enough information? Use less keywords

Finding too much information? Use more key words to narrow your results
If you have any problems finding something, don't hesitate to e-mail Ms Roberts, the school media specialist.
